Spirit Beast is a small studio built around a single idea: that everyone carries a guardian beast drawn from the world's oldest mythology bestiaries. We turn your birth date and name into a one-of-one portrait — not invented by an algorithm, but matched from a canon that has existed for more than two millennia.
The Shan Hai Jing (Classic of Mountains and Seas) is an ancient Eastern mythology canon — a bestiary of 45 guardian creatures, each with its own element, region, and virtue. For centuries it was a map of how people understood the forces that guard and shape a life. We built Spirit Beast to make that map personal: give us your birth data, and the classic's own five-elements and direction system points to the guardian that belongs to you.
We are not a random generator. The same birth data always yields the same guardian and the same limited-edition number — a true keepsake you can return to, not a disposable image.
Every portrait is AI-ASSISTED · HUMAN-CURATED. Our engine selects your guardian from the canon; then our team hand-curates the result — adjusting composition, seal placement, and the provenance citation so each piece reads as a dignified guardian rather than a stock image. In a flood of AI imagery, real provenance is our promise: each artwork ships with a card citing the exact chapter and passage your guardian comes from.
Personal mythology matters. A guardian beast is a small, lasting object of meaning — something to print, to keep, to gift. We make it accessible to anyone, anywhere, as a digital download delivered to your inbox within 24 hours — and, if you wish, printed to order on a T-shirt, sweatshirt, hoodie or hat and shipped worldwide.
